The unknown pneumonia outbreak that has occurred and is ongoing at Wuhan, China, was concluded 2019 novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) infection, which is contagious. The public is advised to avoid non-essential travel to the affected areas such as China, Hong-Kong, and Macau. The University administrator would make the following announcement and require all the faculty, staff, and students to keep alert and follow the instructions. The basic epidemic prevention measures are as follows:

I.  For all the NKUT faculty, staff, and students:

1. Frequently wash your hands. Once you have the symptoms of flu, such as fever or cough, please wear surgical masks all the time.

2. Avoid going to public space that is full of high risk such as market that sells live animals, or even local hospitals

3. Avoid contacting live animal body and dead carcass.

4. Avoid eating raw eggs and meat.

5. Once you have the symptom of flu, such as high fever (38) or coughing, please wear surgical masks and go to the hospital as soon as possible.

6. Prevent from joining the large-scale indoor activity. Keep your windows and workspace open for ventilation

II.  For NKUT faculty, staff, and students who came back from China Mainland, Hong Kong, or Macau:

  1. If you have fever, cough or symptoms similar to the flue upon your arrival, please inform quarantine officers at airport/port immediately.
    2. Once you have the symptoms above after returning home, please call Toll-free direct line (1922) and wear masks to the hospital. Be sure to inform doctors of your recent travel and exposure history.
    3. Please stay at home and avoid contacting with others if you are sick.
    4. Please cover your nose and mouth with tissue paper for coughing or sneezing.
    5. Please keep wearing masks once respiratory symptoms are found.

III.  For students after entry from Hong Kong and Macau:

1. After entry, students from Hong Kong and Macau need to conduct self-quarantine for 14 days required by the related regulations and mechanism as mandated by Taiwan Centers for Disease Control

2.  Please contact foreign affairs police officer at the local area. Beginning from February 10, 2020, overseas students who transferred to Taiwan from Hong Kong and Macau, need to contact local police station to ensure their names on the list. After transit entry, students will conduct self-quarantine on campus dorm. For students that live out of campus, our school will provide needed assistance and care to monitor their self-health conditions.
