Is Taiwan Safe?

For foreign students planning to study on our campus, these are important questions, and deserve to be answered with facts.

Fact 1: Nowhere in the world is safe. This pandemic is expected to last twelve months AT LEAST, and is likely to change societies and economies everywhere for a long time to come.

Fact 2: Taiwan is not only the safest country in Asia, regarding the virus, but one of the safest regions in the world. Despite its proximity to Wuhan, the center of the infection, Taiwan has kept its infected population to a minimum, by acting quickly, with all the powers of its excellent administration and health system. In fact, Taiwan’s virus response is so good. It has been copied by other countries, most recently New Zealand.

Fact 3: Nan Kai University of Technology abides with all Education Department and Health Department regulations to screen every person coming into campus, every day, for signs of infection. All staff and students are fully cooperating in the endeavor to make this college as safe as humanly possible.

So when you come to Nan Kai, be careful, as you should everywhere – but know that you are in a community of friends, dedicated to your health and safety!
